You do not need vitamins to be a healthy vegan!
However, we don't always eat as healthily as we should---in which case vitamins are a good backup. For new/transitioning vegans, I recommend taking a multivitamin at least until you get into the swing of things. Multivitamins are good to have around in case you start to catch a cold as well to help boost your immune system. My doctor recommends that all her clients (most of whom I expect are not vegan) take a calcium supplement. I have listed below the vitamins that I personally take (although not usually on a regular basis) and I have provided links for the cheapest places I have found to order each vitamins from online.
